1. Make sure your iOS device supports Augmented Reality (AR). Here is the list of iOS devices which support AR:
  • iPhone 6 and 6 Plus
  • iPhone 7 and 7 Plus
  • iPhone SE
  • iPad Pro (9.7, 10.5 or 12.9) – both 1st-gen and 2nd-gen
  • iPad (2017)
  • iPhone 8 and 8 Plus
  • iPhone X


You must also make sure that you are using a version equal to or higher than iOS 11.0.


2. Allow the app to use the camera. If you had denied access to the camera when first launching the app, you can grant access by following these steps through your iOS device settings:


1. Settings Menu


  • Open the Settings on your iOS device
  • Scroll to the list of apps at the bottom of the left hand menu and tap the ThomasMinis icon
  • You should now see the permissions for the camera - toggle the switch to Green


2. Privacy Menu


  • Open the Settings on your iOS device
  • Select Privacy from the left hand menu
  • Select Camera
  • You should see a list of the apps on your device that have access 
  • Choose ThomasMinis and toggle the switch to Green


3. Open the App. After you completed the tutorial, tap on any train track. If you tap on an empty board, place at least one track segment on it. You will now find this icon in the upper right corner:




or this icon:



Tap on it. You will now see a grid. Align the grid on a flat surface and tap the screen. 


Your track now appears in augmented reality! You can resize the track by tapping the lower left side buttons.
